The mounting hardware is the part of the system that has to survive twenty-five years of sun, frost and wind: what matters is the material (anodised aluminium and stainless steel fasteners), compatibility with the roof covering and the snow and wind load calculation for the site.
On vehicles, structural bonding without drilling is preferred; on fixed roofs, hooks or brackets matched to the covering are used.
