The Trina Solar TSM-515NEG18R.28 is the flagship of the Vertex S+ dual glass range, with 515 W of power and 23.2 % efficiency in a 1961 × 1134 mm format. It uses 108 N-type i-TOPCon half-cells on 210R rectangular wafers and a laminate made up of a 1.6 mm high transmittance front glass with anti-reflective coating and a 1.6 mm heat-strengthened rear glass. The result is a module that, despite being glass-glass, weighs only 23.5 kg: comparable to many backsheet panels and clearly below the average for dual glass modules of the same power.
It is a highly versatile product, equally at home in medium to large residential systems and in commercial rooftop installations, where the ratio between power per module and weight drives the structural design. N-type cells suffer no LID and show a power temperature coefficient of -0.29 %/°C with an NMOT of 43 °C, for contained thermal losses; i-TOPCon technology also delivers a good spectral response and superior yield in low irradiance conditions, typical of overcast days and the margins of the day. Warranty: 25 years on the product and 30 years linear on power.
