NH 1000V DC battery protection kit
The industrial switchboard version, with inspectable NH isolation
NH gPV fuse links 1000V DC · fuse bases · Victron Lynx busbar · cable and lugs
This kit contains the protection devices and the wiring only: the inverter and the batteries are not included. You pick the inverter size and how many 48V batteries go in parallel, and the right material arrives, already sized.
It is the industrial version of our protection kit. Instead of bolt-down fuses it carries NH knife-blade fuse links rated 1000V DC with 20kA breaking capacity, each on its own fuse base. It is what specifications ask for when an inspectable isolating device is required, one that can be replaced in plain sight with an NH handle, and when the cables go beyond what an M8 stud can take.
How it is built: an NH fuse has no threaded holes, it has two blades that slide into the clips of a fuse base, and it is on the base that the cables are terminated. That is why the kit always includes one base per protected branch. The batteries are paralleled on a Victron Lynx Power In busbar with four connections, unfused, because here the protection sits upstream on the NH bases. With a single battery on a single-input inverter the busbar is not needed: the base and the in-line fuse remain.
What the kit contains
Every configuration arrives complete and already sized: pick the inverter size above and how many 48V batteries you put in parallel, and the kit we ship carries all of the DC-side material.
- the Victron Lynx busbar, in the number of modules the configuration calls for
- the NH fuse bases and the NH gPV 1000V DC fuses of the correct rating, on the battery side and on the inverter side
- the power cables in the cross-section the inverter manual prescribes for that current
- the lugs already matched to the cables
With a single battery on a single-input inverter no busbar is needed: the kit comes down to in-line protection, and it is the cheapest configuration.
The piece count and the ratings change from one configuration to the next: we do the sizing. If you want the full bill of materials before ordering, send us the inverter model and the battery model and we will mail it to you.
gPV and gBat, said honestly. The fuse links we fit are gPV, tested to IEC 60269-6 on photovoltaic sources. The type tested on battery circuits is gBat, IEC 60269-7, designed for higher prospective short-circuit currents and longer L/R time constants. On a 51.2V bank a 1000V gPV works at roughly 5% of its rated voltage, so in very conservative conditions, and 20kA is far above what a 48V bank can deliver. It is not, however, the type formally tested for batteries, and we are not going to sell it to you as something it is not. If the specification calls for a gBat, write to us: we order it to project.
How to pick the size
Count the number of battery inputs on the inverter, not just the kW: inverters up to roughly 12kW have one positive and one negative, those from 14kW upwards almost always have two and need two pairs of cables. The cable size shown is the one the manuals prescribe for that current.

| Inverter size | Typical battery current | Battery inputs | Cable size |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5-6kW | up to 135A | 1 | 50mm² |
| 8kW | about 190A | 1 | 70mm² |
| 10kW | about 210A | 1 | 70mm² |
| 12kW | about 240A | 1 | 95mm² |
| 14-16kW | 260A to 300A | 2 | 2×50mm² |
| 18-20kW | 330A to 350A | 2 | 2×70mm² |
MEGA, Class T or NH: which fuse to choose
The same kit exists in three versions. This is the NH one.

| Victron MEGA 80V | Class T | NH gPV 1000V DC | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rated DC voltage | 80V | 125V fuse / 160V holder | 1000V |
| DC interrupting rating | not declared by the manufacturer | 20,000A | 20kA |
| Connection | direct M8 bolt, 50.8mm centres | 3/8" studs (225-400A) or M8 (110-200A) | knife contacts: the cable lands on the base, not on the fuse |
| Busbar | Victron Lynx Distributor, 4 positions with LEDs | Victron Lynx Class-T Power In, 2 positions | unfused Victron Lynx Power In plus separate NH bases |
| Maximum cable size | limited by the M8 stud | up to 120mm² on the M10 busbar | up to 300mm² with the PK3 base |
| Kit price | 19.80€ to 568.52€ | 156.51€ to 986.00€ | 186.86€ to 1,934.26€ |
| When to choose it | residential and small commercial on the Lynx busbar | large LiFePO4 banks, marine and professional off-grid | industrial switchboards, inspectable isolation, heavy cable |
Two things worth knowing: the cables that run from each battery to the busbar are almost always supplied with the battery itself, so they are not included; if you do need them we will add them, just say so. The kit covers the DC side: the PV array DC board, the AC board and the earthing stay with the project.
