Aqara Airbnb self check-in kit, keypad lock and 4 sensors

For anyone letting a flat for short periods who does not want to be there when the guests arrive. The Aqara U200 Lite lock opens with temporary codes created in the app, the contact on the door logs entries and exits, one sensor reports water leaks, another measures temperature and humidity and the camera covers the outside entrance only. Everything is managed in the Aqara Home app.

InstallationExperienced DIY: the lock needs care over the cylinder and the door, everything else goes on with double-sided tape.

What it does

  • For every booking you create a code in the app valid only for the dates of the stay: the guest types it on the U200 Lite's keypad to get in.
  • The T1 door sensor logs every opening of the entrance and sends a notification, handy for knowing when a guest has arrived or left.
  • The T1 leak sensor, under the sink, the water heater or the washing machine, warns your phone as soon as it finds water on the floor.
  • The T1 temperature and humidity sensor shows the climate in the flat even when it is empty: you can see whether the heating has been left on or whether it is too damp.
  • The G100 2K camera covers only the outside of the front door and records arrivals and departures to the microSD supplied.
  • The M100 hub connects sensors and lock to the app and runs the automations between the Aqara devices.
For more flats, a security door with a different lock or to add air conditioning control, get in touch from the contact page: we will suggest the right configuration.

3T1 door/window sensor on the front door frame: it logs openings and closings.

How it is installed

Hub and Wi-Fi network. The M100 hub is compact and runs off a USB port: plug it into one of the USB power supplies included, in a socket in a central position in the flat, not shut inside a metal cupboard. In the Aqara Home app, add the hub first and connect it to the home Wi-Fi: it is the point the lock and the sensors pair with, so it is best installed first and near the front door.
Lock on the door. Before buying, check the Amazon listing and the manufacturer's guide for compatibility with your door and your cylinder. The lock fits on the inside face following the Aqara instructions; the keypad stays outside. Once fitted, run the open and close calibration from the app and try the door several times with the codes and with the mechanical key before the first guest arrives.
Sensors, camera and accessories. The door sensor sticks onto the frame with the magnet on the leaf, lined up. The leak sensor goes on the floor at the riskiest point, the climate sensor on a wall or a unit in the living room. The G100 camera fixes outside above the door: fit the High Endurance microSD included, which suits continuous recording, and power it with one of the kit's USB power supplies, since the camera's box has none.
App and pairing. In the Aqara Home app you pair the T1 sensors and the lock to the hub, following each device's wizard. The G100 camera joins the Wi-Fi network directly. Give every device a name and a room, so notifications and history read clearly. Finally check that they all show as online with the door shut and the flat empty.
Recommended automations. For every booking, create a temporary code with the arrival and departure dates and times. Set a notification when the door opens, an immediate alert from the leak sensor and a temperature threshold, for example below 7°C in winter or above 30°C in summer. The camera can record only when it detects movement in front of the entrance, so you can find arrivals and departures quickly.
Contents verified. The U200 Lite lock, the T1 sensors and the M100 hub belong to the same Aqara ecosystem and are managed in the Aqara Home app; the G100 camera is added to the same app. The kit includes a SanDisk High Endurance microSD, one per camera, to record events locally, and a set of 5V 2A USB power supplies, because no power supply comes in the box with the hub and the camera.

Before you order

Do you need a hub?

Yes, and it is included: the Aqara M100 hub brings the T1 sensors and the lock into the app and runs the automations between the Aqara devices. The G100 camera, on the other hand, uses the house Wi-Fi directly. Without the hub the sensors cannot be used.

Does it work with Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home?

Everything, temporary codes included, is managed in the Aqara Home app. The M100 hub supports Matter, so the devices connected to it can also appear in Apple Home, Alexa or Google Home where the manufacturer supports it; for guests and codes it is still better to use the Aqara app.

How do guests get the code?

You create the code in the Aqara Home app, setting the start and end date and time, then send it to the guest with the welcome message. Once it expires the code no longer opens the door. Meanwhile you can see in the log when it was used and you get the notification from the door sensor.

Is a camera allowed in a short-term let?

The kit puts the camera outdoors only, facing the entrance door: never inside the let. It must still be declared to guests in the listing and in the house rules, in line with the rules of the platform you use and with privacy law.

Do you need an electrician?

No: there is no 230V wiring. Hub and camera plug into a socket with the USB power supplies included, the sensors are battery-powered and fix with double-sided tape. The lock has to be fitted accurately on the door and needs a few tools, which is why the level is advanced DIY.

What happens if there is no internet?

The codes already stored in the lock stay valid and you can always get in with the mechanical key. With the line down you get no notifications, cannot view the camera remotely and cannot create new codes from a distance until the connection is back; the microSD keeps recording.

Can I add more devices?

Yes: you can pair more Aqara sensors to the M100 hub, contacts on the windows, presence sensors or further leak detectors, for example. Several flats need one hub each, because every home has its own network. Get in touch through the contact page for the right configuration.

What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?

An item can sell out or change version. Get in touch through the contact page quoting the kit code: we will point you to an alternative that works with the other devices and with the same app, so you keep a combination we have checked and you do not have to go back over anything yourself.

Why buy on Amazon?

Purchase, payment, delivery, returns and warranty are handled by Amazon, as with any other order: delivery times, returns and warranty are shown on Amazon when you buy. The kit is our own work: we picked parts that work together, plus the accessories needed to fit them.
