What it does
- The BLU Door/Window sensors on the doors and windows send opening and closing to the gateway, which passes them to the Shelly app.
- The two BLU Motion pick up movement in the rooms people pass through.
- With the alarm scene on, an opening or movement sends a notification straight to the phone.
- The BLU RC Button 4 remote turns scenes on and off at one key: away, night, off.
- If there are Shelly lights or sockets in the house, the alarm scene can turn them all on when the door opens.
- The app logs the event history, so you can see when each door or window was opened.

How it is installed
Gateway and network. The Shelly BLU gateway goes into the kit's USB supply and then into a socket somewhere central, near the doors and windows to be watched: Bluetooth has a shorter range than Wi-Fi and suffers from thick walls. In the Shelly app you add the gateway and connect it to the home Wi-Fi.
Opening sensors. The BLU Door/Window stick to the fixed frame of doors and windows, with the magnet on the opening leaf, lined up and a few millimetres apart: the front door first, then the easiest windows to reach. They run on a CR2032 button cell, as the manufacturer states.
Motion, remote and batteries. The BLU Motion go in a corner, about two metres off the ground, facing the walkway rather than windows or radiators. The remote is kept near the entrance. The optional pack of CR2032 in the kit is there as spares for the opening sensors and the remote.
App and pairing. In the Shelly app you pair all the sensors and the remote to the gateway, one at a time, and rename them after where they are. Test every sensor by opening doors and windows and walking in front of the BLU Motion units, checking the events reach the app straight away.
Recommended automations. Away scene: a notification for every opening or movement. Night scene: a notification for openings only. One remote button per scene and one to turn them off. With Shelly lights in the house, opening the door while a scene is armed turns them all on, a simple deterrent when there is no siren.
Contents verified. The BLU Door/Window and BLU Motion sensors and the BLU RC Button 4 remote are Shelly BLU devices and pair with the Shelly BLU gateway, which brings them into the Shelly app. The kit includes the USB power supply, because the gateway comes without one, and optionally a pack of spare CR2032 batteries.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
You need the Shelly BLU gateway, which is included: it picks up the sensors and the remote over Bluetooth and links them to the Wi-Fi and the Shelly app. No alarm panel and no subscription are needed.
Is there a siren?
No: the kit sends notifications to your phone and triggers scenes, with no siren. If you have Shelly lights or plugs at home, they can switch on when the alarm goes off. To add a siren, get in touch through the contact page and we will point you to a compatible solution.
Does it work with Alexa, Google and Apple?
Yes with Alexa and Google Home, through the Shelly integrations, for the supported sensors. The alarm logic stays in the Shelly app. The devices also work with Home Assistant. Apple Home needs something in between, such as Home Assistant.
Do you need an electrician?
No: the gateway goes into the kit's USB power supply and the sensors are battery-powered, fixed with the adhesive. No cables are run and the installation is left untouched: you only have to choose the right positions.
What happens if there is no internet?
With no internet the notifications do not arrive and scenes that go through the Shelly service stop until the connection is back. If the power goes, the gateway goes off too: the kit has no backup battery.
Are batteries included?
The opening sensors and the remote run on a CR2032 button cell, the BLU Motion units on a button cell, as the manufacturer states. The kit includes a pack of spare CR2032 cells as an option.
Can I add more sensors?
Yes: more Shelly BLU sensors can be added to the gateway, for opening, motion, flooding or temperature, as long as they are within Bluetooth range. Large houses may need a second gateway or a Shelly Gen2 or Gen3 device acting as one.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
