What it does
- The SNZB-04P contact reports doors and windows being opened; the app shows the state of each one, which is also handy for checking you have shut everything before going out.
- The SNZB-03PR2 sensor picks up movement in rooms people pass through.
- With the alarm set, an opening or movement sets off the SNZB-09P siren and sends a notification to the eWeLink app.
- The SNZB-01P button arms and disarms the alarm: a double press to arm on the way out, a single press to disarm on the way in.
- Two modes can be set up: everything armed when you go out, and doors and windows only at night, with the motion sensors left out.
- From the app you arm, disarm and check the state of the house from away too.

How it is installed
Zigbee hub. The ZB Bridge Pro is powered over USB and goes somewhere central but out of sight, for example in a hall cupboard near the router, away from metal boards. You add it to the eWeLink app by connecting it to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. It is worth installing it first and pairing the sensors before fixing them, checking that they all get through from the chosen spots.
Contacts and motion sensors. The contacts stick on with the double-sided tape in the box: the body on the fixed frame, the magnet on the opening leaf, lined up and a few millimetres apart. The motion sensors go in a corner of the room at about 2 m, facing the walkway rather than windows, radiators or direct sun. If there are pets in the house, angle them to cut down false alarms.
Siren and buttons. The siren goes high up and central, where it is heard throughout the house and is out of reach, powered as the manufacturer specifies. The button is fixed next to the front door. Before fixing them, check that they sound and respond from the spot you have chosen.
App and pairing. In the eWeLink app you open the hub, start the Zigbee device search and pair the sensors, the siren and the buttons one at a time, following the maker's instructions and keeping them near the hub. Then each sensor gets a name you will recognise, front door or kitchen window for example, and you check reception from its final spot.
Recommended automations. “Going out” scene: a double press of the button arms every sensor; any opening or movement sounds the siren and sends the notification. “Night” scene: doors and windows only. “Back home” scene: a single press to disarm. A short delay on the front door is worth setting, to give you time to disarm as you come in.
Contents verified. SNZB-04P contacts, SNZB-03PR2 motion sensors, the SNZB-09P siren and SNZB-01P buttons are Sonoff Zigbee devices that pair with the ZB Bridge Pro and are managed from the eWeLink app. No accessories are needed: the sensors stick on with the double-sided tape in the box.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
Yes, and it is included: the contacts, the sensors, the siren and the buttons are all Zigbee and talk to the ZB Bridge Pro, which joins the house Wi-Fi and sends the notifications to the eWeLink app.
Is it a certified alarm installation?
No: it is a DIY system for keeping an eye on the house, getting notifications and sounding an internal siren. It has no link to a monitoring centre and none of the certification professional systems carry; for that you need an alarm installer.
Does it work with Alexa and Google?
Yes, through the eWeLink app: you link the account to Alexa or Google Home and the sensors show up among the devices, handy for routines, an announcement on the speaker when the door opens for example. Arming and disarming are handled in the eWeLink app.
Do you need an electrician?
No: the sensors are battery-powered and fix with the double-sided tape in the box, with no cables, holes or 230V wiring. Mounting takes little time per room. The hub is USB-powered.
What happens if there is no internet?
The hub stays connected to the Zigbee sensors, but notifications on the smartphone, control from outside the house and scenes that go through the eWeLink cloud stop until the connection is back. If the alarm matters, it is worth protecting router and hub with a UPS.
Can I add more sensors?
Yes: further Sonoff Zigbee contacts, motion sensors, sirens, flood and temperature sensors pair to the same hub, within the manufacturer's limits. Mains-powered Sonoff devices, such as relays for the lights, strengthen the Zigbee network.
Are batteries included?
Contacts, motion sensors and buttons run on button cells; each product's Amazon listing says whether they are already in the box. The eWeLink app shows the charge level, so you can replace them before they go flat.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
