What it does
- The three leak sensors on the floor pick up water under the washing machine, the sink and the boiler, or in the bathroom.
- When a sensor detects water, the M100 hub drives the T1 valve controller, which closes the main stopcock.
- The automation runs on the hub in the house: the valve closes even with no internet.
- You get a notification on your phone naming the room where the leak is.
- From the app you can also open and close the stopcock by hand, for example when you go away for a few days.
- The controller runs on AA cells, so no socket is needed near the tap.

How it is installed
Hub and network. Plug the M100 hub into one of the kit's USB power supplies and into a permanently live socket, centrally placed between the main stopcock and the rooms with sensors. Add it to the Aqara Home app over the home Wi-Fi. If the stopcock is a long way off, in the cellar for example, move the hub closer to that area.
Controller on the stopcock. The T1 controller fits onto the ball valve of the main stopcock without cutting any pipe, following the instructions and the compatible sizes given by the manufacturer. Before fitting it, check the valve lever turns without effort: if limescale has seized it, the controller will not be able to move it. It runs on AA cells.
Sensors and power supply. Lay the three leak sensors on the floor at the riskiest points: behind the washing machine, under the sink, under the boiler or next to the WC. Put them at the lowest point, where water would collect first. The M100 hub comes without a power supply in the box: that is why the kit includes three 5V 2A USB power supplies.
App and pairing. In the Aqara Home app add the valve controller and the three sensors to the M100 hub, one at a time, naming each one after its room. Try closing and opening the tap from the app. Then wet one sensor's contacts lightly with a damp cloth to check the notification comes through.
Recommended automations. Set up an automation: if any of the sensors detects water, shut the stopcock and send a notification. Add a "Holiday" scene that shuts the water off when you go away for a few days. Once a month open and close the stopcock from the app, so the valve does not seize up with limescale.
Contents verified. The T1 valve controller and the Aqara leak sensors pair with the M100 hub, which runs the shut-off automation locally. The hub comes with no power supply: the kit includes three 5V 2A USB power supplies, one for the hub and two spare.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
Yes: the valve controller and the leak sensors talk to the Aqara M100 hub, included in the kit, which runs the shut-off automation and links them to the Aqara Home app. You can add more Aqara sensors to the same hub.
Will it fit my tap?
The T1 controller fits quarter-turn lever ball valves, within the sizes stated by the manufacturer. It does not fit wheel-handle taps. If you are unsure, send us a photo of your main stopcock through our contact page.
Do you need an electrician or a plumber?
No. The controller fits onto the existing tap with no pipe cutting and runs on batteries, the sensors sit on the ground, the hub goes into a USB power supply. The level is advanced DIY because of the precise fit on the valve.
What happens if there is no internet?
The shut-off automation runs on the M100 hub in the house: if a sensor detects water, the tap closes even without internet. Without a connection you do not get the notification on your phone, though; it arrives once the line is back.
Are batteries included?
The valve controller runs on AA cells, as the product name says, and the leak sensors have their own battery. Whether they are already in the box is stated on each product's Amazon listing. The charge level is checked in the Aqara Home app.
Does it work with Alexa, Google and Apple?
The M100 hub supports Matter: compatible Aqara devices can appear in Apple Home, Alexa and Google Home, as the manufacturer states. The shut-off automation is better built in the Aqara Home app, because it runs locally on the hub.
Can I add sensors?
Yes, more Aqara leak sensors can be added to the hub and to the same automation: under the dishwasher, by the water heater or in a second bathroom. Get in touch if the house is on several floors, so we can check the coverage.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
