What it does
- Each Sonoff SNZB-02LD sensor has a waterproof probe that goes inside the fridge or the freezer, while the body stays outside, where the radio signal travels better.
- The Sonoff SNZB-02DR2 thermo-hygrometer with display shows the room's temperature and humidity and sends them to the app.
- The ZB Bridge Pro collects the data over Zigbee and brings it into the eWeLink app, with each sensor's history.
- If a display counter goes above the chosen threshold, after a fault or a door left open for example, you get a notification.
- The history shows when the temperature rose and for how long: useful for assessing the stock and for talking to the refrigeration engineer.

How it is installed
Zigbee bridge. The ZB Bridge Pro goes centrally with respect to the cabinets, raised and away from compressors, electrical boards and large metal surfaces, which screen the signal. It joins the shop's Wi-Fi and is powered as the manufacturer specifies. It is the first device to add to the eWeLink app.
Probes in the display cabinets. On each SNZB-02LD, take the probe into the counter or the freezer through the gap at the seal, without crushing the cable so that the door still closes, and put it in the area with the goods, away from the cold air outlet. The body of the sensor fixes outside with the double-sided tape, as the manufacturer describes.
Thermo-hygrometer for the room. The SNZB-02DR2 thermo-hygrometer fixes to the wall or stands on a shelf in the sales area, at mid height, out of direct sun and away from ovens and air conditioning vents. The display lets staff read the value without opening the app.
App and pairing. In the eWeLink app, in the bridge, start the search for new Zigbee devices and pair the four sensors one at a time, following each one's procedure. Name them after the unit: "deli counter", "ice cream display", "freezer". After a few hours, check that the temperatures being read make sense.
Recommended automations. A notification for each cabinet if it goes above its own threshold, different for the chiller and the freezer, and only if it stays above it for more than a few minutes, so defrosting does not raise false alarms. A notification if a sensor has sent nothing for too long. Share the app with a colleague for out-of-hours alerts.
Contents verified. The three SNZB-02LD probes and the SNZB-02DR2 thermohygrometer are Sonoff Zigbee devices that pair with the ZB Bridge Pro and are read in the eWeLink app. The kit needs no installation accessories: the sensors are battery-powered and stick on with double-sided tape, and the bridge goes near a socket.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
Yes, and it is included: the Sonoff ZB Bridge Pro. The sensors are Zigbee and talk only to the bridge, which joins the shop Wi-Fi. Without the bridge no data reaches the app.
Does the signal get out of the fridge?
Fridge walls shield radio signals heavily: that is why the SNZB-02LD sensor has a waterproof probe that goes inside, while the body with the radio stays outside. The bridge should still be kept a few metres away, not behind the compressors.
Does it work with Alexa and Google?
Yes, through the eWeLink app the Sonoff sensors reach Alexa and Google Home: you can ask for a cabinet's temperature by voice or use it in routines. History and notifications come from the eWeLink app.
Do you need an electrician?
No. The sensors run on batteries and fix with double-sided tape; the bridge is powered as the manufacturer describes. Neither the electrical nor the refrigeration system is touched: the probe passes through the door seal, with nothing to drill.
What happens if there is no internet?
The sensors keep measuring and the display in the room stays readable, but without internet the notifications do not reach your phone until the connection returns. That is why it pays to switch on the alert for a device going offline as well.
Does it replace HACCP record keeping?
It helps you keep them under control, because it keeps a temperature history, but it is not a certified instrument. The records your HACCP plan calls for must be kept as your HACCP consultant specifies.
Are batteries included?
The sensors are battery-powered; what comes as standard is stated on each product's Amazon listing. The charge level shows in the eWeLink app, so you know in advance when to change it.
