What it does
- The two waterproof stainless steel probes read the temperature inside the cold room, at two different points.
- The sensor bodies stay outside the cold room, where the radio signal gets through better and the cold does not drain the batteries.
- If the temperature goes above the threshold set, the app sends a notification to your phone.
- At the same time a scene sounds the Zigbee siren, so anyone on site notices straight away.
- The temperature history stays in the app and helps you see when the cold room went out of range and for how long.
- The Zigbee hub collects the data and brings it onto the company network and into the app.

How it is installed
Hub and network. The ZB Bridge Pro goes near the company router, powered by its USB lead, and is added to the eWeLink app with the guided procedure. Cold-room walls are metal panels that screen the signal: the hub goes where the sensors, mounted outside the cold room, get through properly.
Sensors and probes. Each sensor body fixes to the outside wall of the cold room. The stainless probe goes into the room through an existing cable gland hole or along the door seal, without crushing it, and sits where the reading is representative: one near the evaporator, the other away from it, at product height.
Siren. The Zigbee siren goes in the workroom or the corridor, where the alarm is heard even with the machines running, powered as the manufacturer specifies. No electrical connections are needed: the kit needs neither cable nor wiring accessories.
App and pairing. From the hub menu in the eWeLink app you pair the two sensors and the siren, one at a time. Rename them by room and position, for example "Cold room 1 evaporator" and "Cold room 1 door". Leave it a few hours to see how the temperature normally behaves, defrost cycles included.
Recommended automations. A scene sounds the siren and sends a notification when a probe goes above the top threshold for the goods being stored. A second notification, without the siren, flags readings close to the limit. During defrosting the temperature rises briefly: set the threshold with that in mind, to avoid false alarms.
Contents verified. Hub, sensors and siren are from the Sonoff Zigbee range and run in the same eWeLink app: the sensors and the siren pair with the hub included. The kit has no accessories because nothing is hard-wired: the probes go into the cold room on their own cable and the sensor bodies stay outside.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
Yes, and it is included: the Sonoff ZB Bridge Pro links the sensors and the siren to the company network and to the eWeLink app. It goes near the router, somewhere it has a good reach to the sensors fixed on the outside wall of the cold room.
Does the signal get out of the cold room?
Walls made of metal panels shield radio signals heavily. That is why the sensor body stays outside the cold room and only the probe, on its lead, goes inside. That way the sensor transmits well and the batteries are not working in the cold.
Do you need an electrician?
No. The sensors are battery-powered and the siren is powered as the manufacturer describes, with nothing wired into the installation. The only work is routing the probe into the cold room, which has to be done without damaging the door seal.
What happens if there is no internet?
The sensors keep measuring and the hub stays up. Notifications on your phone and control from outside the company resume when the line is back. Scenes that sound the siren can depend on the eWeLink cloud: if the cold room is critical, add an alarm that does not rely on the network.
Are batteries included?
The sensors are battery-powered; what is supplied depends on each item's packaging, described on the Amazon listing. The charge level shows in the app. With the sensor body outside the cold room, the cells do not suffer from the cold.
Can I add devices?
Yes: more probe sensors for further cold rooms or fridges, a magnetic contact on the cold room door, a smart socket. They pair to the same hub and work in the same scenes in the eWeLink app.
Does it count as HACCP record-keeping?
The app history is a help for day-to-day checking, but it is not a certified recorder. For your monitoring obligations follow your HACCP plan and your consultant's advice.
