What it does
- The Power Strip 4 Gen4 measures what the workstation draws and switches its sockets, within the functions provided by the manufacturer.
- One button on the BLU remote switches off the monitor, the printer, the speakers and the chargers at the end of the day.
- Another button switches everything back on in the morning; the other two are left for individual plugs or scenes.
- From the app you schedule the automatic switch-off in the evening and the switch-on again on working days.
- The history shows what the workstation used to draw on standby and how much you are saving.

How to install it
Wi-Fi network. The kit has no hub: the power strip connects to the home or office router on the 2.4 GHz network and acts as the Bluetooth bridge for the BLU remote. Check the Wi-Fi coverage under the desk. In the Shelly app you create the account and the study as a room.
Power strip. Plug the Power Strip 4 Gen4 straight into the wall socket, with no other power strips in between, and fix it under the top or behind the desk. Connect the monitor, the printer, the speakers and the chargers. If the desktop PC must not be cut off abruptly, plug it into a socket you leave permanently on and shut it down from the operating system first.
BLU remote. The BLU RC Button 4 remote runs on a coin cell and talks over Bluetooth to the power strip. It sits on the desk or fixes next to the study door, so you can switch off as you leave. No accessories or wiring are needed. Keep it away from heat sources.
App and pairing. In the Shelly app, add the power strip with the guided procedure and name every socket after the appliance plugged into it. Then add the BLU remote to the power strip following the app's procedure and assign the actions: one button switches everything off, one switches it back on, the others control individual sockets.
Recommended automations. Schedule the automatic switch-off for the evening hour when you are usually done, as a safety net for the days you forget the button. Set it to come back on in the morning on working days. After a week, check the standby consumption and leave only the PC or router socket permanently on, if the router is connected to it.
Contents verified. The Power Strip 4 Gen4 is a latest-generation Shelly Wi-Fi device that also acts as a bridge for BLU devices, so the BLU RC Button 4 remote pairs straight to it. Nothing needs accessories: the power strip plugs into the wall socket and the remote runs on its own coin cell.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
No. The power strip connects to the Wi-Fi router and the BLU remote pairs straight to the strip over Bluetooth. All you need is the Shelly app on your smartphone. The remote works even when Wi-Fi is slow, because it talks directly to the power strip.
Does it work with Alexa, Google or Apple?
The kit is managed from the Shelly app. Through Shelly's integrations the plugs can also be controlled from Alexa and Google Home. The BLU remote and the energy monitoring are handled in the Shelly app.
Do you need an electrician?
No. The power strip plugs into the wall socket and the remote is simply set down or fixed with double-sided tape. There is no electrical wiring. Just check that everything plugged in stays within the strip's 16A.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The BLU remote keeps controlling the power strip, because it talks straight over Bluetooth, and the sockets can also be switched from their own buttons. The schedules set on the power strip can carry on locally, as stated by the manufacturer; remote access and notifications come back when the line does.
Can I switch the PC off as well?
Better not with an abrupt cut of the power: a desktop PC should be shut down from the operating system first. Plug it into a socket on the power strip that stays on, or one that only switches off after the PC has shut down. The monitor, the printer and the accessories, on the other hand, can be switched off without any problem.
Are batteries included?
The power strip needs no batteries. The BLU RC Button 4 remote runs on a CR2032 coin cell, supplied by the manufacturer in the box; the app warns you when the charge is low.
Can I add more workstations?
Yes. Each extra workstation needs its own power strip; the BLU remotes pair with each one. For an office with many desks, write to us from the contacts section. Every power strip is paired with the same guided procedure.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
