What it does
- The Sonoff SNZB-02DR2 thermo-hygrometer with display measures temperature and humidity next to the rack and shows them on the spot as well.
- The Sonoff SNZB-05P water sensor on the floor under the rack or under the air conditioner's split unit picks up leaks and condensate.
- If the temperature goes above the threshold or the sensor detects water, the SNZB-09P Zigbee siren sounds and you get a notification.
- The Sonoff ZB Bridge Pro collects the data and brings it into the eWeLink app, with the history.
- The 500VA APC Back-UPS keeps the bridge on, and the router too if you plug it in, during a power cut, so the alert still goes out.

How it is installed
Bridge and backup power. The ZB Bridge Pro goes in the server room or just outside it, raised and not inside the metal rack, which screens the signal. It joins the office Wi-Fi and is powered from the included APC UPS, as the manufacturer specifies. It is worth plugging the router into the same UPS, so the alerts still go out during a power cut.
Temperature sensor. The SNZB-02DR2 thermo-hygrometer fixes near the rack, on the side where the equipment draws air in, at mid height, out of the air conditioner's direct flow. That way it reads the temperature that actually matters to the servers and not that of the coldest corner of the room.
Water and siren. The SNZB-05P water sensor lies on the floor at the lowest point, under the rack or under the split unit, where a leak would reach first. The SNZB-09P siren fixes to the wall somewhere it can be heard from the corridor too, powered as the manufacturer specifies.
App and pairing. In the eWeLink app add the bridge, then pair the thermo-hygrometer, the water sensor and the siren one at a time, following each one's procedure. Use clear names, such as “server room temperature”, and test the water sensor with a few drops: the siren and the notification must go off.
Recommended automations. A notification and the siren if the temperature goes above 30°C, a figure to suit the equipment. Immediate siren and notification if the sensor detects water. An alert if humidity falls outside the range the equipment maker recommends, and if the bridge goes offline. Share the app with the engineer who looks after the site.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
Yes, and it is included: the Sonoff ZB Bridge Pro. The sensors and the siren are Zigbee and talk only to the bridge, which joins the office Wi-Fi. Without the bridge the alarms never go off.
Does the UPS protect the servers too?
No. The 500VA unit is sized for the bridge and the router, which draw little, so the alerts still go out during a power cut. Servers and rack equipment need a UPS sized for their own load, which is not included.
Does it work with Alexa and Google?
Yes, Sonoff devices reach Alexa and Google Home through eWeLink, for a spoken announcement in the office if the room overheats, for example. History and notifications still come from the eWeLink app.
Do you need an electrician?
No. The sensors run on batteries and either fix with double-sided tape or sit on the floor; bridge, siren and UPS plug into ordinary sockets. The electrical installation is left untouched.
What happens if there is no internet?
The sensors keep measuring and the display stays readable; local scenes on the bridge, if they are set up as local, can still sound the siren as the manufacturer describes. Notifications reach your phone only when the connection is back.
Are batteries included?
The thermo-hygrometer and the water sensor run on batteries; the water sensor uses a CR2477 cell. What comes in the box is given on each product's Amazon listing, and the charge level shows in the eWeLink app.
Can I add sensors?
Yes. The bridge takes other Sonoff Zigbee devices: a second temperature sensor at the back of the rack, a contact on the room door, more water sensors. They are added from the same app.
