What it does
- Each member of the family registers their own fingerprint and code on the outdoor keypad: the door only opens for those authorised.
- The two NFC cards are for anyone who would rather not use a fingerprint or a code, grandparents or a babysitter for example.
- The M3 hub connects the lock to the internet: from the app you unlock remotely, for example for a child who has forgotten the code.
- The log in the app shows who came in and at what time, so you know when the children get back from school.
- Temporary codes give guests or staff access only for as long as it is needed.
- The M3 hub supports Matter: the lock can appear in Apple Home, Alexa and Google Home as well.

How it is installed
Hub and network. Set the M3 hub on a piece of furniture indoors, not far from the front door, and connect it to the house network and the power supply as the manufacturer directs. Add it to the Aqara Home app first. It is the hub that puts the lock and the keypad online and runs the automations: the closer it sits to the door, the steadier the link.
U200 lock. Measure the door thickness and how far the cylinder protrudes and compare both with the manufacturer's figures. Take the cylinder out, fit the inside and outside parts of the lock as the instructions say and check that the mechanical key turns freely. This is the fiddliest stage: take your time and do not force the cylinder screws.
Keypad and cards. Fit the fingerprint keypad outside next to the door, at handle height, sheltered from driving rain where possible, with the screws or the tape the manufacturer supplies. Keep it at a height children can reach too. The two NFC cards are paired with the lock in the app and used by holding them to the reader.
App and pairing. In the Aqara Home app add the lock and the keypad to the M3 hub. Register every family member's fingerprints, ideally two fingers each, and a personal code. Pair the NFC cards and name each credential after its owner. Try all the methods with the door open before you shut it.
Recommended automations. Set up a notification for each child coming in, so you know they are home. Turn on auto-locking after a few seconds. For babysitters or helpers create temporary codes valid only on the days and at the times agreed, and delete them when they are no longer needed. If you add a door sensor, have it warn you when the door is left open.
Contents verified. The U200 lock, the fingerprint keypad and the M3 hub come in the same box and are built to work together in the Aqara Home app. The two Aqara NFC cards are the ones intended for the U200, for anyone getting in without a fingerprint or a code.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
For remote opening and notifications, yes: the M3 hub, included in the box, links lock and keypad to the internet and to the app. At the door the lock still works with fingerprint, code and card, even without the hub.
Does it work with Alexa, Google and Apple?
The M3 hub supports Matter: through Matter the lock can be added to Apple Home, Alexa and Google Home, with the functions each platform supports. Codes, fingerprints and cards are managed in the Aqara Home app.
Can children use it?
Yes: each child registers their own fingerprint, better on two fingers, and the app shows you when they come in. If a child cannot manage the fingerprint, they can use a code or an NFC card. As a precaution, always keep a spare mechanical key somewhere the adults know about.
Will the lock work on my door?
The kit's Aqara locks fit doors with a euro cylinder, within the thickness and protrusion the manufacturer gives. Before buying, measure the door and check the type of cylinder; if in doubt send us a photo through the contact page and we will check compatibility.
Do you need an electrician?
No. The lock runs on batteries and goes onto the door with ordinary tools, with no electrical work; the hub plugs into an ordinary socket. The level is advanced DIY because the cylinder has to be taken out and refitted carefully, following the manufacturer's instructions.
What happens if there is no internet?
The lock and the keypad keep working at the door with fingerprint, code, card and mechanical key. With no internet you cannot open remotely and you get no notifications of who comes in; those functions return when the line is restored.
Are batteries included?
The lock runs on batteries: the type, the life and whether they are in the box are those the manufacturer gives on the product's Amazon listing. The Aqara Home app shows the charge level and warns in good time; with a flat battery the mechanical key is always there.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
