What it does
- The Shelly Pro 3EM clamps, one per phase, measure power and energy on each of the three phases and on the total.
- The app shows which phase is the most loaded and how consumption shifts through the day.
- The Pro 3EM connects to the home or office network with the network cable included in the kit, which is more reliable than Wi-Fi inside a consumer unit.
- The Shelly 1PM Gen3 feeds a non-priority load, such as a fan heater, a water heater or a portable air conditioner, and measures its consumption.
- With a scene, if the power on one phase goes above the threshold you set, the 1PM disconnects the load and switches it back on when it falls below again.
- Notifications warn you about peaks and disconnections.

How to install it
Home network. The kit has no hub. The Shelly Pro 3EM connects to the router with the kit's 10-metre network cable or over Wi-Fi; the Shelly 1PM Gen3 uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so good coverage near the consumer unit is needed. The 1-metre leads are for the network connections inside or beside the enclosure.
Pro 3EM in the consumer unit. The Shelly Pro 3EM mounts on the DIN rail in the kit's 8-module enclosure, next to the existing consumer unit, and is powered to the manufacturer's diagram. The three clamps clip onto the three phase conductors downstream of the meter, each in the direction indicated and matched to the right phase. The 230V connections in the consumer unit must be made by qualified personnel with the system isolated.
Relays and wiring. The Shelly 1PM Gen3 is fitted on the line of the load to be shed, in the consumer unit or in a junction box, within the 16A maximum current. The kit includes the 8-module surface-mount consumer unit (3 for the Pro 3EM, the rest spare), the ferrules for stranded conductors, the Wago lever connectors and the network cables.
App and pairing. In the Shelly app, add the Pro 3EM, which appears on the network once it is cabled, and the Shelly 1PM Gen3 with the guided procedure. Check that on every phase the power is positive when there is consumption and that the phases match those in the consumer unit. Give the controlled load a clear name.
Recommended automations. Create a scene: if the power on one phase exceeds the threshold, switch the Shelly 1PM off; once it stays below for a few minutes, switch it back on. Pick the threshold from your contracted power and from the phase the load sits on. Add notifications for peaks and check the per-phase graphs after a week.
Contents verified. The Shelly Pro 3EM and the Shelly 1PM Gen3 are handled in the same app, so the reading on one phase can drive the relay directly. The kit includes the 8-module enclosure (3 for the Pro 3EM plus spare ways), the ferrules for the wiring, the Wago connectors for the modules, patch leads for the board and a 10 m cable for the link to the router.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
No. The Shelly Pro 3EM connects to the network with the cable included or over Wi-Fi. The Shelly devices in the kit connect straight to the home Wi-Fi router and are managed from the Shelly app, on a smartphone or in a browser. Good Wi-Fi coverage is needed at the consumer unit: metal enclosures and cellars weaken it.
Does it work with Alexa, Google or Apple?
The kit is managed from the Shelly app, with charts and consumption history. Through Shelly's integrations the devices can be brought into Alexa and Google Home, for example to switch off a load by voice. Readings and energy-based automations are best kept in the Shelly app.
Do you need an electrician?
Yes. The devices mount in the distribution board or in a small enclosure next to it and connect to the 230V line: the work must be done by qualified personnel with the system switched off. The kit gives the installer the enclosure, ferrules and connectors needed for tidy wiring.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Metering carries on and the Pro 3EM stays reachable from the app on the local network. Without internet you cannot see the data away from home and cloud scenes may not run: for reliable load shedding it is better to configure the action locally on the devices, as stated by the manufacturer.
Can I add more devices?
Yes. In the same app you can add metering plugs, 1PM relays for other loads and meters for further circuits. Write to us from the contact page if you would like a kit built around your own consumer unit.
Do I need to buy any batteries?
No. Every device in the kit runs off mains power and uses no batteries. So there are no spares to keep at home and no charge levels to check: if the power goes off, the devices stop and start again on their own when it comes back.
Which loads can I shed?
Non-priority loads up to 16A, such as electric heaters, water heaters or portable air conditioners, connected to the circuit controlled by the Shelly 1PM Gen3. Heavier loads or motors need a contactor driven by the relay: the electrician decides on the basis of the installation.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
