CHINT DDSU666 Single-Phase Bidirectional Energy Meter — RS485 Modbus for Hybrid Inverters
A hybrid inverter without a meter works blind: it does not know how much the house is drawing, so it cannot tell how much energy to keep and how much to export. A bidirectional meter is what makes real self-consumption possible, and on new installations it is also what keeps export within the limit.
The DDSU666 is the single-phase version: it connects directly on the line, with no current transformers, so fitting it in the board takes minutes. It talks to the inverter over RS485 Modbus.
