Level of cisterns, basins and tanks with three types of sensor: ultrasonic from the lid, submersible probe from the bottom, threshold from the outside of plastic tanks. Battery sensors, LoRaWAN radio transmission, minimum and maximum alarms on your smartphone.
What it does
- The two ultrasonic sensors, mounted on the lid or above the basin, measure the distance from the water surface and derive the level from it.
- The two submersible probes, lowered to the bottom, measure the water column up to 5 m: they are suitable for buried basins, cisterns with a domed lid or with internal obstacles, where ultrasound does not work well.
- The two threshold sensors are applied to plastic tanks from the outside, without drilling: they report when the water drops below the height at which the strip is glued. They do not give the continuous level, they give the refill alarm.
- Minimum and maximum thresholds are set for each tank: when one is exceeded, the notification arrives on your smartphone.
- From the level trend you can read draw-offs and refills, and estimate consumption per day and per period.
- The outdoor gateway collects the data of all the tanks, even when they are far apart, and sends it to the cloud through the company network or over 4G.
- History, charts and notifications can be consulted from a smartphone and from a PC.

How it is installed
What is in the kit

| Qty | Device | What it is for |

Before you order
Is an internet connection needed near the tanks?
It is needed only at the point where the gateway is installed, not at the tanks: the sensors transmit by radio. In the basic version the gateway connects to the company network with the Ethernet cable, which also carries the power. If there is no network, the same gateway works over 4G with a data SIM (not included, any operator, traffic below 1 GB per month): it only needs a socket for the PoE injector. For sites without mains power the version with a solar gateway is available. You choose when ordering.
How far from the gateway can the tanks be?
The manufacturer states up to 2 km in an urban area and 15 km in open ground. In practice what counts is the height of the gateway and what lies in between: with the gateway high up and in line of sight, tanks scattered around a farm are normally covered by a single unit; for large areas or with high ground in between a second gateway is added. Buried basins and semi-basement rooms reduce the range: in those cases the transmitter body is brought above ground. One gateway handles hundreds of sensors.
Which sensor goes on which tank?
Ultrasonic: cisterns and basins with a flat lid or open to the sky, with at least 30 cm clear around the sensor. Submersible probe: buried basins, tanks with a domed lid, or with internal obstacles, up to 5 m of water. Threshold sensor: thin-walled plastic tanks, where it is enough to know when it is time to refill. On metal tanks the threshold sensor does not work. If the 2+2+2 split does not match your tanks, we change it: write to us from the contact section.
I have more than 6 tanks, or deeper basins
The kit is composed around the real tanks: sensors of the type needed are added, the gateway and the platform stay the same. Submersible probes also exist with a range of 10 m and more. Write to us from the contact section stating the number, type, material and height of the tanks: we will send you the composition and the quotation for the adapted kit.
Is it suitable for liquids other than water?
The kit is designed for water: drinking water, rainwater, irrigation water, fire-fighting reserve. The submersible probe is rated for water. For other liquids write to us from the contact section before ordering. The kit is not intended for fuels and flammable liquids.
Battery life
The ultrasonic sensors and the submersible probes have a replaceable lithium battery with a stated life of 10 years with one reading every 10 minutes at 25 °C. For the threshold sensors the manufacturer states more than 10 years. Shorter intervals and harsh temperatures reduce the life. The charge level is visible in the app.
Where is the data consulted and are there any fees?
On the manufacturer's app and portal, from a smartphone and a PC, with charts, thresholds and notifications; no fee for basic use. Where there is a remote control system, a SCADA or a management system, the gateway can send the data to that system as well (MQTT or HTTP): the configuration is included.
What happens if the connection is lost?
The sensors carry on measuring. The ultrasonic ones and the submersible probes keep up to 1,000 readings in memory, which are recovered when the line is restored. As long as the gateway has no internet the notifications are not sent: where the minimum alarm is critical, as in a fire-fighting reserve, the 4G version is preferable.
Is an electrician needed?
No. The sensors are battery powered and are fixed with screws, clamps or double-sided tape. The gateway is powered at extra-low voltage from the Ethernet cable: the PoE injector is plugged into an ordinary socket indoors. The work involved is mounting the pole, laying the network cable and, for the ultrasonic sensors, the hole in the lid.
Protection rating
The gateway, the ultrasonic sensors and the transmitter bodies are IP67, for permanent outdoor installation; the submersible probes are IP68. The ultrasonic sensors work from -15 to +60 °C, the other transmitter bodies from -30 to +70 °C, the submersible probes from -20 to +70 °C. The strip of the threshold sensors is not protected against water: it goes on tanks under cover or must be sheltered.
What is not included
- Tanks, cisterns, basins and their lids: these are the ones in your installation
- The data SIM, if the gateway is used over 4G
- The network point and the socket for the gateway's PoE injector
- In the "devices only" version: pole, brackets, network cable, wall passages and small fittings
