Fronius manufactures in Austria and has an uncommon trait: its inverters are designed to be opened and repaired, with boards replaceable in the field instead of swapping the whole unit. On an installation meant to last twenty years that is a concrete selection criterion.

The Smart Meter is required for self-consumption management and for the export limitation function.
