Twelve battery-powered three-axis tilt sensors record over time the rotation of the points chosen by the engineer; two temperature and humidity sensors make it possible to separate the thermal effect from real drift. LoRaWAN radio transmission, history and thresholds from the app and from a PC.
What it does
- Each sensor, fixed flush against the structure, measures the tilt on the three axes and reports it as the deviation from the position stored at the end of installation.
- The readings arrive at regular intervals, from 1 minute to 18 hours; the factory setting is 10 minutes. The history shows the trend over days, weeks and seasons.
- Two temperature and humidity sensors, one on the exposed side and one on the shaded side, give the thermal reference: the daily and seasonal swing, which comes and goes, can be told apart from a drift that accumulates.
- Thresholds in degrees are set for each point: when one is exceeded, a notification goes to the engineer in charge, to the building manager or to the operator of the structure.
- The outdoor gateway collects the data of the twelve points and sends it to the cloud through the network available on site or, alternatively, with a 4G SIM.
- The data can be consulted from a smartphone and from a PC and can be sent automatically to the system of the engineer or of the operator for their own processing.

How it is installed
What is in the kit

| Qty | Device | What it is for |

| 2 | Temperature and humidity sensor, IP67 | Thermal reference for reading the tilt variations. |
Milesight devices of the highest quality with the manufacturer's warranty. Batteries included in the sensors, replaceable; the gateway is powered by the network cable with the PoE injector supplied.
Available sizes
The size is chosen at the top, together with version and connectivity. The diagram, the photo and the table above show the «12 points» size; with the other sizes only the quantities of the devices listed below change, the rest of the kit is identical.
- 6 points: 6 tilt sensors, 1 temperature and humidity sensor
- 12 points: 12 tilt sensors, 2 temperature and humidity sensors
- 24 points: 24 tilt sensors, 4 temperature and humidity sensors
- 36 points: 36 tilt sensors, 6 temperature and humidity sensors
In the complete kit the installation material linked to these devices (brackets, boxes, clips, cables, enclosures) follows the chosen size. For a different size write to us from the contact section.
Available connectivity options
- Customer network (PoE Ethernet): 1 outdoor LoRaWAN gateway
- 4G with the customer's SIM: 1 outdoor LoRaWAN gateway
- Stand-alone solar 4G: 1 solar LoRaWAN gateway with 4G. For structures without mains power; SIM not included
In the complete kit the material for the gateway changes accordingly (network cable, pole, PoE injector). The SIM for the 4G versions is not included.

Before you order
Do you need mains power and internet on site?
For the gateway, yes: a socket for the PoE injector and a network connection, which can be in a nearby building. Alternatively the same gateway works with a data SIM (not included, any operator, traffic below 1 GB per month) and only needs the socket. For isolated structures without power, such as bridges, walls along a road or slopes, the version with a solar 4G gateway is available. You choose when ordering. The sensors are battery powered and need nothing.
How far from the structure can the gateway be?
The manufacturer states up to 2 km in an urban area and 15 km in open ground. In practice it is best to keep the gateway high up and in view of the structure. Sensors placed inside thick masonry, in basement rooms or inside metal boxes receive less well: reception is checked from the app before the final fixing. One gateway handles about 2,000 devices.
How accurate are the tilt sensors?
Range ±90° on the three axes, accuracy ±1°, resolution 0.01°. They are suited to continuous surveillance and to reading trends: they show whether a point is rotating, in which direction and at what speed, and give a warning when a threshold is exceeded. They are not precision inclinometers for acceptance testing: where measurements certified to the hundredth of a degree are needed, the kit works alongside specialist instrumentation and manual readings, covering the intervals between one campaign and the next.
How is temperature taken into account?
The sensors do not apply an automatic thermal compensation. The two temperature and humidity sensors record the trend on the exposed side and on the shaded side: by overlaying the charts you recognise the component that follows the daily and seasonal cycle. Reading the data and defining the thresholds remain with the engineer in charge.
I have more than 12 points or more structures
Among the product options you will find the 24-point and 36-point sizes, with the same gateway. For different numbers or for several structures far apart, write to us from the contact section stating the type of structure, the number of points and the availability of power: we will send you the composition and the quotation for the adapted kit.
Battery life
The tilt sensors have two replaceable lithium batteries: about 4 years with one reading every 10 minutes at 25 °C, about 3 with a weak radio link; longer intervals extend the life. The temperature and humidity sensors range from about 6 to more than 10 years. The charge level is visible in the app, so the replacement can be scheduled together with a site visit.
Where is the data consulted and are there any fees?
On the manufacturer's app and portal, from a smartphone and a PC, with charts, thresholds and notifications; no fee for basic use. Where there is a monitoring platform of the engineering firm or of the infrastructure operator, the gateway can send the data to that system as well (MQTT or HTTP): the configuration is included.
What happens if the network is down?
The sensors carry on measuring and transmitting to the gateway; the upload to the portal and the notifications resume when the line returns. Where continuity of the history is essential, the version with a 4G SIM is preferable, because it does not depend on the network of the building, or the solar version, which does not even depend on mains power.
Is an electrician needed?
No. The sensors are battery powered and are fixed with two anchors. The gateway receives power and data from a single extra-low voltage network cable; the injector is plugged into an existing socket. A mobile scaffold tower or a platform is needed for the points at height and, on public structures, the authorisations of the operator.
Protection rating
The gateway and the sensors are IP67, for permanent outdoor installation. Operation from -30 to +60 °C for the tilt sensors, from -30 to +70 °C for the temperature and humidity ones, from -40 to +70 °C for the gateway, which has a die-cast aluminium body.
What is not included
- The choice of the points, the structural assessment and the definition of the thresholds: these are up to the engineer in charge
- The data SIM, in the 4G versions
- The power socket and the network point for the gateway
- Access equipment for working at height during installation
- In the "devices only" version: pole, outdoor network cable, clamps and small fittings
