Solis 5-in-1 RS485 Communication Cable for 5 Daisy-Chained Inverters 2.5m Spacing
When a site has several Solis inverters and you want to read them all from one data logger, the RS485 bus has to be daisy-chained: a single line passing from machine to machine. This 5-in-1 cable is that line, already made up, with five drops ready to plug into the inverters’ RS485 ports, from number 01 to number 05.
The benefit is in site time and in the mistakes you do not make. Wiring an RS485 bus by hand means stripping, getting the polarity of every pair right and closing the terminations: three chances to get it wrong, and an RS485 bus with reversed polarity does not give a clear error, it gives readings that come and go. Here the drops are assembled and simply plug in.
The drops are 2.5m apart, which is the figure to check against the wall spacing of the inverters, so the cable is neither under tension nor left in loops. The data logger goes at the end of the cable and from then on collects data from every machine in the chain and sends it to SolisCloud.
