Solis S3-Logger Commercial Data Logger 4 RS485 Ports and LAN for 60 Inverters

The S3-Logger is the data logger for commercial and industrial sites: not the stick of a single inverter but the unit that holds a whole array together. It has four independent RS485 ports working at once and a 10/100 LAN port towards SolisCloud, and from there it collects data from up to 15 inverters per port, that is up to 60 machines with every port in use.

Two ports, P3 and P4, are meant for measuring devices: third-party energy meters and weather stations. That is what a C&I site needs in order to have real numbers: output compared with irradiance, not just kWh counted. Add an external meter and the logger also handles export power limitation, a recurring requirement on commercial grid connections.

In practice it speaks Modbus RTU, IEC 60870-5-103 and DLT645 on the serial side, Modbus TCP and IEC 60870-5-104 over Ethernet, so it also fits into third-party SCADA, not only the manufacturer portal. RS485 reaches 1000m, LAN 100m. Supply is dual (100-240Vac or 9-36Vdc), consumption 5W, mounting on DIN rail or on a surface. It is IP20: it belongs inside an enclosure.
