What it does
- The Sonoff S61s outdoor socket, rated IP44, switches terrace lights, string lights or a small pump, on a schedule or from the app.
- The watering timer screws onto the tap and opens the water to the planters or the drip line at the scheduled times.
- The SNZB-02WD sensor, IP65 with a display, measures temperature and humidity outdoors: you read the values at a glance and in the app.
- With scenes you can water more on hot days or get an alert if the temperature goes above a threshold.
- While you are away on holiday you can keep an eye on the watering and the lights from anywhere.

How to install it
Bridge and network. The ZB Bridge Pro connects to the home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and goes near the French door or the wall facing the terrace, to reduce the obstacles between it and the outdoor devices. The outdoor socket also needs a good Wi-Fi signal on the terrace: check it with your phone before installing.
Plug and timer. The S61s socket goes into a protected outdoor socket or a sheltered spot, with the plug of the appliance to be controlled. The timer screws onto the tap with the adapter that suits the thread, and the hose runs from its outlet to the planters or the drip line. Check that it does not leak before leaving it to run.
Temperature and humidity sensor. The SNZB-02WD sensor fixes to a wall in the shade, about a metre and a half up, away from direct sun, from walls that heat up and from any water jet. In the sun it would read higher than the real temperature. Nothing in the kit needs wiring: it goes up with screws or double-sided tape.
App and pairing. Install eWeLink and add the bridge first, then pair the Zigbee devices to it following each product's procedure and add the S61s plug from the app. Give them clear names: “terrace lights”, “planter watering”, “terrace climate”. Run a first test cycle of the timer from the app and check that the water reaches all the planters.
Recommended automations. Watering early in the morning and, in the hot months, a short second cycle in the evening. Temperature above a high threshold: an extra cycle or a notification. Terrace lights on at sunset and off at a fixed time. While you are away, check in the app that the cycles have started.
Contents verified. The climate sensor and the watering timer are managed with the ZB Bridge Pro included; the outdoor plug is added in the same eWeLink app, where all the devices can be combined into scenes and schedules. The kit needs no accessories: a plug-in socket, a tap timer and a battery sensor.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
Yes, for the Zigbee devices: the Sonoff ZB Bridge Pro included in the kit links them to the home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and to the eWeLink app. Without the bridge the Zigbee sensors do not work. The outdoor socket, on the other hand, connects to the Wi-Fi and shows up in the same app.
Does it work with Alexa and Google?
Yes, through the eWeLink app: you link your eWeLink account to the Alexa skill or to the Google Home app and the devices show up there, ready for voice commands and routines. With Apple Home there is no direct integration that we can guarantee for every part of the kit.
Do you need an electrician?
Not if there is already an outdoor socket on the terrace: the smart plug goes in there and the timer screws onto the tap. If there is no protected outdoor socket, having one installed is a job for an electrician and is not included in the kit.
Will the timer fit my tap?
The timer screws onto garden taps with a threaded outlet; for other thread sizes an adapter is used. A minimum mains pressure is required. Check the fittings supplied on the Amazon listing; if in doubt, write to us from the contacts section with a photo of the tap.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Without internet you cannot control anything from outside the home and you get no notifications. The sensor keeps showing the readings on its display. For the watering, check in the app how the timer behaves with no connection: some schedules stay on the device, as the manufacturer states.
Are batteries included?
The climate sensor runs on a battery, supplied as stated by the manufacturer. The watering timer has its own battery supply: the type is given on the Amazon listing. The charge level is checked in eWeLink, especially before you go away.
Can I add devices?
Yes: a soil moisture sensor to water only when it is needed, more timers for other taps or more outdoor sockets. The bridge handles many Sonoff Zigbee devices in the same app.
What do I need to do in winter?
Before the first frost it is worth taking the timer off the tap, draining it and storing it indoors, as you would with garden hoses. The socket and the sensor are rated for outdoor use and can stay where they are, within the limits stated by the manufacturer.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
