Sonoff healthy indoor air kit: CO2, PM2.5 dust and a socket for the purifier

For families and allergy sufferers who want to know what the air in the house is like. The Sonoff AirGuard monitor measures CO2, the PM2.5/PM10 monitor measures fine dust and the S60TPF Wi-Fi plug switches the purifier on when the dust goes above the threshold. Readings, history and automations in the eWeLink app, with no hub and no electrical work.

What you switchThe air purifier, switched on by the smart socket when needed.
InstallationDIY: monitor to stand up, socket to plug into the wall socket.

What it does

  • The Sonoff AirGuard monitor measures CO2: when it rises the room needs fresh air, and you get an alert to open the window.
  • The PM2.5/PM10 monitor picks up fine particulates, from cooking, from traffic or on smoggy days.
  • The Sonoff S60TPF socket switches the purifier on when the particulates go over the threshold and off when they are low again.
  • The socket also meters the purifier, so you know how hard it is working.
  • The eWeLink app gives you live readings, history and automations.
For more rooms, a dehumidifier to control or mechanical ventilation, get in touch from the contact page: we will tell you which configuration suits.

How it is installed

Wi-Fi network. There is no hub: the monitor and the socket join the 2.4GHz home Wi-Fi directly. Before choosing the room, check that the signal reaches it properly. The devices are added to the eWeLink app, where they appear together so you can build automations between the readings and the socket.
Air quality monitor. The CO2 monitor goes in the room you spend most time in, the living room or a bedroom, on a unit or on the wall at about 1.5 m, away from windows, radiators and anyone breathing straight at it. The particulate monitor goes in the same room, not sitting on top of the purifier. Both are powered as the manufacturer specifies.
Socket and purifier. The S60TPF socket plugs into the wall socket and the purifier into the smart socket. Check that the purifier restarts on its own when the power comes back: many models with an electronic button stay off and cannot be controlled this way. Stay within the socket's maximum power as stated by the manufacturer.
App and pairing. In the eWeLink app add the two monitors and the socket, each with its own setup wizard, and put them in the same room. Switch the purifier on and off from the app to check it restarts. Leave the monitors running for a few hours to see the room's usual readings before you pick the thresholds.
Recommended automations. Set up a scene: if PM2.5 goes above the threshold you have chosen, switch the air purifier socket on; when it drops, switch it off after a few minutes. For CO2 set a notification, say above 1,000ppm, to remind you to open the window: the purifier filters dust but does not bring CO2 down. You can block it at night.
Contents verified. The AirGuard CO2 monitor, the PM2.5/PM10 monitor and the S60TPF socket are Sonoff Wi-Fi devices that run in the same eWeLink app, where the monitors' readings can switch the socket. The kit needs no accessories: there is no electrical work to do and no batteries to add.

Before you order

Do you need a hub?

No: the monitor and the plug connect straight to the home Wi-Fi and are managed with the eWeLink app. Good 2.4GHz Wi-Fi coverage in the room where you put them is enough, which is worth checking with your phone.

Does the purifier bring CO2 down?

No. The purifier filters dust and particles, but CO2 only comes down with fresh air: by opening the windows or with mechanical ventilation. That is why the kit uses CO2 to warn you and dust to switch the purifier on.

Does it work with any air purifier?

It works with air purifiers that restart on their own when the power comes back, usually those with a mechanical switch or last-state memory. If yours only starts from an electronic button, the socket cannot start it: check first by unplugging it and plugging it back in.

Does it work with Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home?

The eWeLink app offers integration with Alexa and Google Home. Devices that support Matter, as Sonoff states, can also be added to other Matter controllers. For the automations between monitor and socket it is better to use eWeLink.

What happens if there is no internet?

The monitors keep measuring and keep showing the values, if they have a display, and the purifier can always be switched on from its own button. Automations and notifications that go through the eWeLink cloud resume when the line is back.

Can I add more rooms?

Yes: you can add more monitors and more sockets in the same app, for the children's bedroom or the home office for example. Get in touch through the contact page if you also want to control a dehumidifier or ventilation.

What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?

An item can sell out or change version. Get in touch through the contact page quoting the kit code: we will point you to an alternative that works with the other devices and with the same app, so you keep a combination we have checked and you do not have to go back over anything yourself.

Why buy on Amazon?

Purchase, payment, delivery, returns and warranty are handled by Amazon, as with any other order: delivery times, returns and warranty are shown on Amazon when you buy. The kit is our own work: we picked parts that work together, plus the accessories needed to fit them.
