Eastron SDM120CTM Single-Phase Energy Meter — RS485 Modbus, Deye and Solis Compatible
A hybrid inverter without a meter works blind: it does not know how much the house is drawing, so it cannot tell how much energy to keep and how much to export. A bidirectional meter is what makes real self-consumption possible, and on new installations it is also what keeps export within the limit.
The SDM120CT measures through an external current transformer instead of direct connection: that is what you need when the line is already wired and you do not want to cut it, or when the cable is too thick to enter the meter. Same RS485 Modbus RTU protocol, same accuracy class, one DIN module wide.
