The SolarEdge S1200 power optimizer is a commercial S-Series DC/DC converter designed for the high-power, high-current PV modules used in installations on warehouses, industrial roofs and ground-mounted arrays. It performs maximum power point tracking on each individual module, so that shading, differences in orientation, soiling or degradation of one panel do not affect the output of the entire string.
This version (YMBV suffix) is fitted with a 1.6 m input cable and a positive output cable of approximately 5.4 m, designed for mounting the optimizer on the racking rather than under the module and for module-skipping connections. All connections use MC4 connectors. The optimizer also provides module-level monitoring on the SolarEdge ONE platform and SafeDC safety, which reduces the voltage of each optimizer to about 1 V when the inverter is switched off.
