SolarEdge S500B-1GM4MBM Power Optimizer 500/650 W 2.3 m Cable Curved Bracket
The SolarEdge S500B power optimizer is an S Series DC/DC converter for residential installations, which connects to a single photovoltaic module and carries out maximum power point tracking (MPPT) at panel level. Each module therefore works independently of the others, eliminating the losses caused by partial shading, dirt, differences in orientation or production mismatch between the modules of the same string.
It is fixed directly to the module frame or to the mounting structure by means of the curved bracket supplied with this version (BM suffix), and it is connected to the SolarEdge inverter with MC4 connectors. In addition to optimisation, it provides performance monitoring of the individual module through the SolarEdge ONE platform and the SafeDC function: if communication with the inverter is lost, the output voltage of each optimizer automatically drops to about 1 V, bringing the string to a safe voltage during maintenance or emergency intervention.

SafeDC safetyIn the event of inverter shutdown or loss of communication the output voltage drops to 1 V per optimizer, reducing the string voltage to safe values.
Module-level monitoringIt makes it possible to identify remotely the individual panel that is underproducing, simplifying diagnosis and maintenance of the system.
Curved bracket and IP68 ratingThe BM version is supplied with a curved bracket for fixing to the module frame; the IP68 enclosure and the −40 / +85 °C range allow outdoor installation.
