Solar Manager CONNECT 2 Energy Management Gateway DIN Rail with LAN and RS485
The CONNECT 2 neither measures nor generates: it decides. It is the gateway that looks at how much the plant is producing and how much the house is consuming and, on that basis, switches loads on when there is a surplus instead of exporting it at a low tariff. Immersion heaters, wallboxes, pumps: compatible loads are driven, not merely monitored.
The second function is the one that shows up on the bill today: integration of dynamic electricity tariffs. The gateway can charge the battery when energy is cheap and hold it when it is expensive, something a system that only watches the PV array cannot do. The system comes in two parts: this gateway and the online platform, which needs an annual subscription billed directly by the manufacturer.
On the installation side it is made for the enclosure: DIN rail format, 4 modules (71x90x59mm) plus 1 module for the 230V PSU included. Interfaces are LAN and RS485, plus 2 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs and 1 analogue output: those are what let it command devices that do not speak over a network, such as a heater through a contactor or a modulating load.
