Noark 103334 Surge Protective Device Type 1+2 275 V 12.5 kA 1P+N

The Noark 103334 is a modular surge protective device (SPD) of the Ex9UE1+2 series, in combined class Type 1+2 and 1P+N (2 modules) configuration. It is based on varistors with pluggable, replaceable functional modules, has a maximum continuous operating voltage of Uc 275 V and a protection level of Up 1.5 kV.

It is installed in the single-phase main board, at the origin of the installation, typically immediately downstream of the meter or the main switch, and it is the device to use when the building is equipped with a lightning protection system (LPS) or is exposed to direct lightning strikes: the Type 1 class discharges a lightning impulse current Iimp of 12.5 kA with a 10/350 µs waveform, while the Type 2 function limits surges of indirect and switching origin. Thanks to the modular design, in the event of repeated operation it is enough to replace the exhausted cartridge — indicated by the optical indicator on the front — without removing the device from the DIN rail. It is suitable for TN-C-S, TN-S, TT and IT networks.

Key features

Combined class Type 1+2A single device covers both lightning current discharge and the limitation of induced and switching surges.
Iimp 12.5 kA (10/350 µs)Lightning current discharge capacity suited to buildings with a lightning protection system, LPL levels III and IV according to EN 62305.
Protection level Up 1.5 kVLimits the residual voltage on both the L-N and the N-PE path, protecting equipment of a lower overvoltage category.
Pluggable cartridgesThe functional modules are quickly replaced at end of life, without removing the base from the DIN rail or redoing the wiring.
Optical status indicatorA window on the front indicates an exhausted module and the need for replacement.
Terminals up to 50 mm²Accepts rigid, stranded and flexible conductors up to 50 mm², compatible with the cross-sections required for low-impedance earth connections.
