Fire Safety Switch FoxESS S-BOX 2 Strings 1500 V DC IP66
The FoxESS S-BOX is a fire safety isolator switch (fire safety switch) for photovoltaic systems, which manages 2 strings at the input and the same number at the output towards the inverter. It is installed outdoors, close to the PV array or to the inverter, and its purpose is to interrupt the DC voltage upstream, as close as possible to the modules, so as to make the system safe for firefighters and operators in the event of a fire or of work on the building.
The device incorporates a motor-operated DC isolator switch, supplied from the 230 V AC mains: when the AC supply fails — because the main breaker has tripped, because the fire emergency button has been pressed or because of a deliberate disconnection — the isolator automatically opens the DC circuits. As backup protection, tripping also occurs when the internal temperature exceeds 70 °C. The IP66 rated enclosure and the class II insulation allow outdoor installation, while the RS485 interface and the volt-free contact allow integration with the plant monitoring system.
