Fire Safety Switch FoxESS S-BOX Plus 4 Strings 1500 V DC IP66
The FoxESS S-BOX Plus is the extended version of the FoxESS fire safety isolator switch and manages 4 PV strings. It is installed outdoors, as close as possible to the PV array, in order to interrupt the DC voltage upstream of the cables that enter the building: in the event of a fire or of intervention by firefighters the DC conductors inside the building remain de-energised, a condition that fire regulations require on many systems.
Inside, the device uses a motor-operated DC isolator switch supplied at 230 V AC. The circuits open automatically when the AC supply fails — for example when the fire emergency button or the main breaker of the building is operated — and, as an additional safety measure, when the internal temperature exceeds 70 °C. The IP66 enclosure allows outdoor mounting, while the RS485 interface makes it possible to report the status of the isolator to the monitoring system. The unit is CE, TÜV, CB, SAA and UL certified.
