The M12 three-way tee solves the practical problem of a weather station with several sensors and only one port free on the data logger: it lets irradiance, module temperature and anemometer share the same bus.
Assembly is plug-in, with no soldering and no terminal blocks to close in the field: screw it on and move on, which cuts installation and service time considerably. The M12 connection is the industrial standard, with a seal against dust and damp suited to staying on a PV plant.
