The BYD BCU 2.0 (Battery Control Unit) is the control unit of the BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS and HVM high voltage storage systems. Code 16448287-00 identifies the kit consisting of the BCU 2.0 and the Base: the base rests on the floor and forms the element on which the battery modules are stacked, while the BCU is mounted on top of the tower and contains the management electronics, the contactors and the DC connections to the inverter.
The BCU manages cell monitoring, balancing and communication with the hybrid inverter through a CAN / RS485 interface. With the BCU 2.0 an HVS tower can host from 2 to 5 modules of 2.56 kWh (5.12-12.8 kWh) and an HVM tower from 3 to 8 modules (8.28-22.08 kWh), with the possibility of connecting up to 3 towers in parallel. The assembly has an IP55 protection rating and the BCU is equipped with an Ethernet port for remote monitoring and firmware updates.
