BYD BMU Control Unit for Battery-Box Premium LVS and LVL Low Voltage

The BMU is the communications brain of a low-voltage BYD Battery-Box Premium: it gathers the data from the battery modules, acts as the control unit for the system and talks to the external inverter or charger. Without it the modules are just a stack of batteries with nobody coordinating them.

You need one per system, however many modules are installed: this is where the storage becomes a single counterpart for the inverter, which reads state of charge, voltages, temperatures and current limits from it.

It is declared for Battery-Box Premium LVS 4.0, LVS 8.0, LVS 12.0, LVS 16.0, LVS 20.0, LVS 24.0 and LVL 15.4 systems. It weighs 10kg. Check firmware compatibility with the chosen inverter before commissioning, since the protocol depends on the battery-inverter pairing.
